Copenhagen – Åhus

Take the train across the Öresund Bridge to Malmö to pick up your rental car at the downtown office. Visit the orchard in Kivik and end the day in Åhus, a quintessential Swedish fishing village.

Accommodations: Åhus Gästgifvaregård, a traditional country inn and sailor’s tavern, all under one roof

Åhus – Kalmar

On your way to Kalmar, explore “Crystal Country,” or Glasriket. Between the dense trees and red houses are scattered 16 glass factories marked by signs that say “glasbruk.” Be sure to visit Kosta Boda and Orrefors. You will not only find great deals on second-and first-quality crystal, but also on ceramics, wood, leather and other handicrafts. Use your “Glasriket Pass” for admission into the glass factories as well as discounts. Take time to tour the medieval Kalmar Castle and marvel at its grounds.
