Transatlantic and Connecting Flights with Your Trip
We provide our clients with attractive Tour Operator-priced transatlantic flights on all of our indicated escorted and unescorted, customized programs. We recommend our airlines of choice into Scandinavia:
- SAS, Scandinavian Airlines, a member of Star Alliance – U.S. gateway cities are Chicago, Newark, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
- Icelandair, with attractive stopover programs in Iceland – U.S. gateway cities are Minneapolis/St.Paul, New York, Boston, Orlando/Sanford, Seattle, Toronto and Halifax.
- Alternate carrier fares available upon request
These air carriers offer convenient and comfortable service into all of Scandinavia, the Baltics and St. Petersburg. There are usually no surcharges for open-jaw Scandinavian flights (into one city and out of another, e.g., New York to Copenhagen and return Oslo to New York), which can save precious travel time and expense. As an added bonus, we offer access to Icelandair’s no-penalty stopovers into Reykjavík. Fly Icelandair and take advantage of a few days of sight-seeing in this unique and unforgettable country.
Inter-Scandinavian flights are inexpensive when pre-purchased (expensive when purchased in Scandinavia) and convenient for city- or country-hopping when time constraints exist.
We offer a land-only price as well as an air-inclusive price on most of our scheduled programs, departing from New York on Icelandair. Special domestic add-on airfares are available from key U.S. locations on Scandinavian Airlines.
Note: Does not include applicable airport taxes at time of ticketing and fuel surcharges. All airfares are subject to change without notice.
Passports and Visas
You will need a current passport, and it must be valid for six months after your return date to the United States. We advise that you make copies of all passport documentation in case of loss. U.S. citizens need a valid passport, and a Visa is required for St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia, travel.
Documents and Tickets
All documents, including hotel, rail, ship, car rental, ferry and airline tickets, are sent by express delivery about 10 – 14 days prior to your departure if your final payment has been received. A valuable Nordic Company Scandinavian Traveling Tips booklet is provided with receipt of your trip deposit.
Arrival and departure transfer restrictions:
Airport or ship transfers are only provided within the actual dates of the tour unless otherwise indicated. Persons arriving early or departing after the tour must arrange for their own transfers. We can most certainly provide them upon special request.*
*If you are a single traveler transfers shall be subject to a slight increase.
Most gratuities are included within Scandinavian travel services including those for your servers when dining, beverage waiters, taxi drivers and porters on escorted programs. Escorted tour guide and driver gratuities are not included and are normally extended on a voluntary basis. If, however, you feel you are receiving extraordinary service for any reason, feel free to add a small token to your fare. It’s greatly appreciated but not expected!

Note: Due to increasing security protection measures and restrictions, be sure your airline ticket name matches your passport name, or you could be denied boarding. Please allow plenty of time prior to international ( at least two hours) and domestic (one to one-and-a-half hours) flight departures. Also, be aware of and adhere to the increased security restrictions of carry-on luggage. There are many items that are strictly forbidden! (Liquids and gels more than 3oz.) Please check airline Website for most current restrictions for traveling.
